The Chopta Chandrashila Tungnath Trek with Deoriatal is a popular trek in Garhwal Uttarakhand, starting from sari village from where the trek starts to Deoriatal lake, an approx 2.5 kms climb, where trekkers camp at night. Deoriatala is a high-altitude lake surrounded by forests and snow peaks, the trek provides stunning reflections of the Chaukhamba range on the lake’s surface, offering a perfect blend of adventure, spirituality, and natural beauty.
The trail then leads to Chopta, often referred to as the “ Switzerland of India,” a 14 kms walk through the forest next day. From here trekkers ascend the next morning to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, situated at 3,680 meters (12,073 feet). The spiritual atmosphere and surrounding himalayan peaks makes it an incredible hault before we begin the climb for Chandrashila summit.
